Farm Technician - Major tasks and responsibilities of position
Crop Management
o Responsible for the operational work in the fields in order to grow the crop successfully
Resource Management
o Use the farm facilities (field and machinery in a proper and safe way and when needed take care of maintenance and repairs or contact third parties).
o Drive tractors, trucks, cars, forklifts safe and proper way.
o Use power tools and field equipment in a safe and proper way, take care of maintenance and repairs and contacts with related third parties.
o Execute the daily work regarding crop work and maintenance in the most effective and efficient way.
o Conduct troubleshooting and repairs farm equipment
o Perform basic math calculations for mixing pesticides, fertilizers, disinfectants, etc
Farm Technicians have also to take care of certain tasks outside normal working hours, like crops, pest control, control of the growth of crops or watch and check premises and test security system when needed. These tasks are compensated in a specific way and can be an essential responsibility of the job.
