JOB SUMMARY
On a production basis, performs medium mechanical assembly work. Variable types of job. Often makes simple decisions but must follow established precedents. Works under general supervision and has some responsibility for work output.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Good understanding of products and processes. Able to troubleshoot assembly issues with support from supervision & able to work on a variety of tasks.
• Assemble machined parts
• Apply mechanical assembly skills.
• Riveting, hydraulics, bonding and torque assembly tasks.
• Read blueprints and work instructions.
• Perform failure analyses; troubleshoot mechanical failures with support from supervision.
• Rework parts to print per instructions.
• Able to work on a variety of tasks.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Facility maintenance as requested.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities required)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
LEVEL 3:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and 2 to 6 years related experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
LEVEL 2:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Ability to communicate in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
LEVEL 2:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
LEVEL 2:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
