The Data Architect will work with business and system analysts to define, design, develop and implement data assets for multiple programs and projects. As part of the Global Operations Business Intelligence team, the data architect will ensure end user needs are met, while at the same time integrating new solutions into the existing IT infrastructure and system architecture. These services will have an enterprise-wide impact, enabling both our engineering and business communities with analytics and performance metrics. 

Roles and responsibilities: 
• Determines data structure requirements by analyzing operations, applications, and current 
• Creates data models and data mapping specifications; Generates the code required to build 
the physical database 
• Evaluates new data sources for adherence to the organization's quality standards; Profiles the 
new data sources to detect potential quality and structure issues 
• Ensures that the design of the new data models integrates with existing data/subject areas 
• Designs and creates reports from the database for end-user consumption 
• Provides insight into the changing data utilization requirements for the company and offers 
suggestions for solutions 
• Authors technical specifications in an Agile fashion, including envisaged use cases, user 
stories, customer scenarios, and demos 
• Creates and executes repeatable unit tests 
• Provides on-going break-fix support; addresses enhancements as prioritized by leadership 

Knowledge Skills and Experience: 

• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a global 
environment; Flexibility to accommodate working with remote locations when needed 
• Education, training and up-to-date expertise in Business Intelligence, including Data modeling, 
Data warehousing, Big Data, Data Security, Data Integration, etc. 
• Strong technical acumen with Business Intelligence software and tools with experience 
selecting and integrating systems. 
• Knowledge of the following: Informatica, Abinitio, SSIS, Teradata, DatAllegro, Parallel Data 
Warehouse, Power BI, KNIME, SAP Analytics Cloud, Tableau, MS SSRS 
• Scripting languages (e.g. JavaScript, Perl, VBScript); Data interfaces and job schedulers (e.g., 
Control-M, Redwood); Oracle, SQL Server Database applications, MS SQL Reporting Services
