ASC Facilities Engineer

Specific Position Requirements


SPOTLIGHT CALL:  40-50 hours As a Facility Engineer, Architectural/Civil/Structural (ASC) for John Deere, you will have the responsibility to provide Project Management and ASC Engineering technical support related to implementation of facilities infrastructure projects primarily at John Deere manufacturing facilities in and around Horicon, WI. • Provide Project Management using project management processes for small to medium scope facility infrastructure projects that support manufacturing, maintenance and/or operations. Project management responsibilities include cost, schedule, risk management and quality control. • Provide technical guidance and coordinate with the work of internal resources, external design professionals, and construction contractors from concept through implementation for your own projects or in support of other project managers. • Perform analysis, make design decisions, and provide proposals for solutions to facility engineering issues at multiple factories. • Support or lead execution of projects including material handling devices, building additions, office remodeling, dock additions, spill containment, environmental compliance, manufacturing equipment moves, and other projects not listed. Support or lead value engineering efforts to produce a cost effective designs. • Communicate and ensure a collaborative environment with high performance teamwork with leadership, maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, environmental staff, supply management, facilities staff, consultants, and contractors. • Provide life, safety and building code analysis on facilities projects and support and implement programs within the organization to prevent injuries and illnesses. Assist in the identification and resolution of potential environmental, safety, ergonomic and health hazards. • Coordinate with internal Supply Management to develop project sourcing strategy and research market for qualified suppliers of materials and services. Prepare purchase requisitions for management approval. Required Skills, Knowledge, & Relevant Work Experience: • 5+ years of experience with site and building Civil, Architectural, and/or Structural Engineering infrastructure systems and facilities design. • Demonstrated multi-discipline project management experience on capital expenditure projects focusing on schedule, budget and quality expectations with the ability to prioritize multiple active projects simultaneously. • Demonstrated experience in procuring and coordinating multiple skilled trades, contractors, and outside consultants to achieve project objectives. • Experience with computer aided design. • Experience procuring, coordinating, or working with multiple skilled trades, contractors, and outside consultants to achieve project objectives. Desired Skills, Knowledge & Relevant Work Experience: • Registration as a licensed professional engineer, architect, or equivalent. • Formal project management training and PMP Certificate (Project Management Professional). • Knowledge of construction industry project delivery methods, controls, and construction contract management. • Cross competency experience with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Supervision, Supply Management, Environmental, and Maintenance Engineering. • Working knowledge of OSHA Safety standards, quality and environmental laws, regulations and goals. • Experience with applying industrial facilities systems infrastructure design principles in or to support a manufacturing environment. Education (Specific Branch of Study, Certificate) • Degree in Architecture, Civil, or Structural Engineering ( University 4 yr. degree) Special Considerations (Shift, Off Hours, Support, Travel, etc.) Work is primarily first shift, but there will be a need to provide occasional support on off-shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by project work.
