Weld Manufacturing Engineer

Specific Position Requirements


As a Weld Manufacturing Engineer, for the John Deere Seeding Group, you will provide support to designated production weld work centers. In addition, you will: • Develop and verify sequence of events (SOE) and cost to pay standards • Support Continuous Improvement (CI) projects • Complete cProjects tasks associated with current product changes • Design and implement new welding processes and work centers • Improve current welding process work centers Required Skills - • Previous weld engineering work experience • Knowledge of welding processes (manual and robotic) • Experience demonstrating the operation of relevant machines • Experience with engineering tools, systems and databases • Experience supporting projects. • Experience working as a member of a team. • Ability to adapt and perform in ambiguous situations. Other areas of experience that are desired include: • Programming of weld robots (ABB and Fanuc) for production use • Establishing and measuring of work methods • Establishing routings for parts and components • Knowledge of industry standards for dimension and tolerance, weld symbols, etc. • Understanding and application of Deere Production System, Lean Manufacturing, Demand Flow Technology - Laser cutting experience is also helpful. Education (or equivalent work experience) • Degree in Engineering/Technology This an off-shift position - Hours of work - 10:30pm-7am. Metatarsals required
