Knowledge of high technology processes such as vacuum furnace heat treating and brazing, thermal spraying and welding (manual, automatic and electron beam) is desired. Experience dealing with complexity, informing others, technical leadership, supervision, hardware specifications, manufacturing, and presenting technical information is also desired. The Manufacturing Engineering will be expected to improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout, and to provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements. A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering is required with up to 5 years of experience in a shop floor environment. This position will last approximately 6 months.
The Manufacturing Engineer for Chromalloy in San Antonio reports to a Project Lead and evaluates manufacturing processes by researching technical data and applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, processes and production flow. The Manufacturing Engineer will confer with equipment vendors, solicit observations from operators, review prints, routers, work instructions, and quality inspection requirements to ensure the documents reflect the reality of the current manufacturing process and cover all technical details properly.
