Job Description: This position reports to the Test Engineering and Continuous Improvement Manager in Costa Mesa, CA and will interact with various production teams on the diagnostics and analysis of power electronics devices and will support ME’s with the use of innovation practices in systems design and resolution of manufacturing barriers using smart factory tools, responsibilities include test equipment repairs and upgrades, development of APP to support manufacturing. S/he will work with Continuous improvement department analyzing equipment data to identify areas for improvement in equipment to increase efficiency, reduce test times or improve cycle times. S/he design and develop test procedures and assists in the evaluation of test equipment required to perform quality checks. S/he train and coach others on how to use test equipment. S/he participates in activities such as resource planning, analysis of methods and movements, machinery efficiency. S/he creates work instructions and or procedures of the manual assembly and equipment that meet the guidelines of lean manufacturing, ergonomics and safety. Under direct supervision, performs preventative maintenance on electronic equipment using prescribed work methods and/or electrical schematics, troubleshoots malfunctioning circuits and modules and makes required repairs for production equipment, completes, maintains, and compiles logs, records, and reports of failures and repairs, follow the preventive Maintenance daily, weekly and monthly as per as schedule and control the spare parts of production test equipment. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience Requirements: This position requires an associate’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, or AA in Electronics and Computer Technology plus 2-3 years of work experience in manufacturing environment. Special Skills or Other Requirements: 1. Develop and modify functional test procedures required to perform quality and functionality checks using Labview. 2. Proven knowledge in Lean Manufacturing or certification in Six Sigma Black belt or green belt. 3. Project management skills and basic understanding of DB with access or My SQL. 4. Proven knowledge in manufacturing supporting production with a high sense of urgency to fix problems and to communicate barriers. 5. Requires Knowledge of Manufacturing Systems, MRP, Lean Manufacturing, ergonomics, environmental and safety standards. 6. Good communication skills, team player, team work and “can do attitude”.
