Job Description: The Financial Counseling team helps remove the financial barriers to care, so families can stop worrying about the financial impact of treatment and instead focus wholly on their child's care. As navigators of insurance and reimbursement resources, Financial Counselors help uninsured or underinsured families apply for various government-sponsored healthcare resources, including MediCal and California Children's Services (CCS), as well as assist families with payment plans and other options to resolve patient account balances. Counselors work with departments across the house, including social work, case management, revenue cycle, and physician billing. The Financial Counselor works under the general supervision of the Lead Financial Counselor and Patient Access Manager.
Requirements:
1. HS diploma, GED or equivalent
2. 2 years of experience as a Financial Counselor in a healthcare setting
3. Understanding of MediCal and Insurance Authorizations
4. Ability to multitask
