Job Description
- Responsible to perform routine, laboratory testing of Raw Materials, bulk product and Finish product following P&G Methods and USP. Understanding of Laboratory Safe Practices, Chromatography and maintenance of laboratory equipment/systems. Handling of chemicals and use of SDS as needed. Review data vs. specifications following Data Integrity/Documentation practices Requirements. Perform lab investigations as needed. Perform basic troubleshooting of analytical methods and equipment. Understanding of USP/NF, and other regulations. Required to work 40hrs per week plus any required Overtime. Weekend work will be required based on business needs.

The Analytical Chemist Associate performs physical, chemical or bioanalytical characterization of finished product or raw material test samples. Associate applies various chemistry techniques and scientific methods to characterize test materials to enable Client experimental objectives. Technical deliverables include, but are not limited to: basic bench chemistry techniques (including pH, viscosity and particle size), sample preparation, chromatography, gravimetric analysis). Receives and follow instructions on assignment objectives with accuracy and great attention to detail. Spends the largest percentage of time in the laboratory. Associate analysts must use their analytical skills to understand how the collected data can affect business decisions, then prepare reports that detail findings and recommend solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Instrumentation operation, sample analysis, Notebook documentation, reviewing reports, quality systems compliance. Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field. Relevant experience in an academic or industrial lab setting with emphasis on notebook documentation. Ability to analyze and document various different types of data. Ability to operate basic lab equipment including pH meters, pipettes, spectrophotometer, etc. Strong math skills, attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
