Education:• Bachelor’s or higher Degree in the sciences/engineering. Prior microscopy field service or technical experience may be counted to be equivalent education requirement.
Experience:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelor’s or higher Degree in the sciences/engineering. Prior microscopy field service or technical experience may be counted to be equivalent education requirement.• Windows based OS and system driver installation, skilled with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and E-mail• Excellent written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Strong writing and verbal skills for presentation to engineers, product manager(s) sales members and customers.• Ability to travel up to 25%.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Hands-on experience with advanced precision instruments in a classroom or lab setting. A background in microscopy and/or advanced imaging in a research setting is preferable but not required.• Customer-facing field service experience supporting advanced electro-opto-mechanical PC-based systems is desirable but not required.• Experience in teaching complex technical material as well as understanding basic microscope imaging principles is a plus.
Responsibilities:
The Assoc. Technical Training provides domestic and international training in alignment with Client US training methodology and strategies for technical development. Guided by Training Manager/Field Service Management, this person is responsible for competency-based technical training/repair training for Field Service / In-house repair personnel from Americas regarding Life Science and Industrial products. After given training, the Engineer can master and instruct the installation/repairing of advanced microscopes including laser-based systems.The Engineer also implements technical training plans and needs assessment assigned by Training Manager to achieve business objectives. This person will support Field Service Engineer development through field on-site training, will work with senior training members to acquire necessary technical skills and knowledge to support TSG from technical skill development to troubleshooting to customer management and professionalism.
Job Duties• Supports Technical training initiatives Client US for domestic, Latin America, Canada. Delivers training programs in alignment with EUS training/licensing methodology in order to meet customer expectations and field service management objectives.• Coordinates and leads Bethlehem-based classroom training programs 2-3 weeks every month as needed. Responsible for delivering quality training supported by written, practical and objective evaluations that help define student levels of autonomy.• Responsible for continuous improvement of the training product to reduce on-the-job requirements including but not limited to course overview, structure, pacing, agenda, and goals.• Utilizes creative video training materials for field service and conduct remote training whenever possible.• Provides both hardware and software troubleshooting support via phone, email, or MS Teams to Field staff as required and when time allows.• Conducts field auditing as directed to confirm technical skills are being applied, retained and developed. Conduct Field-service as needed up to 25% of time. Field visits should also be viewed as opportunities for the trainer to supplement existing training with “real-life” experience to add depth to future training courses.• Responsible for maintaining current technical documentation for all course work supported including tools/jigs and spare parts.• Participates in required training courses in or outside of countries provided by suppliers.• Maintains and protects all corporate assets including confidentiality/proprietary information.• Works flexible hours as needed.• Ability to interact with field personnel, management, and customers with a high degree of professionalism.• Performs other duties as assigned
