Qualifications:

REQUIREMENTS: • 3-5 years of related experience and/or training, including extensive CNC Machining experience and a basic working knowledge of 3D CAD systems (including Autodesk Inventor).• Ability to write and debug machine code programs using Master CAM for CNC mill & lathe controls.• Willingness to learn new skills and perform new tasks.• Ability to work independently.• Must possess good written and oral communication skills• Must possess knowledge of blueprint reading, trade mathematics (trigonometry) and machinist handbook formulas in computing and verifying dimensions in the planning, layout out, and final dimensional checking process needed.• Demonstrated ability to apply software application as it applies to programming CNC equipment.• This position requires over 1 year’s work experience to become proficient in all phases of the job to work independently.

Responsibilities:

JOB DESCRIPTION: The CAM Programmer analyzes job orders, drawings, blueprints, and other data and then performs all the necessary calculations. Writes programs or modifies existing program and ensures that the machines and programs operate correctly and that products meet specifications. The ability to determine the manufacturing process of a new product from the fixture/work holding stage to the finish product is essential for this position. Comprehensive knowledge of Master CAM and G & M codes is necessary. 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:• Produce CNC mill tool paths of foundry patterns, machine parts, and molds using Mastercam • Recommend and provide list of cutting tools for setup of CNC mills • Communicate with engineers and machinists for the timely completion of projects • Write, store, and modify original and/or existing CNC programs utilizing Mastercam software • Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications, and design data to calculate part dimension compatibility with machines, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates• Program CNC machine tools at the machine control level • Determine optimal production process planning to meet customer requirements • Select and optimize available machines and equipment to meet product process requirements.• Knowledgeable of carbide tools and adjusting speed and feed parameters for maximum tool life.• Prepares instructions for machine operators.• Utilize machine tool simulation to detect all machine components for near-misses and collisions.• Improve total cycle times using high-speed continuous motion program.• Other duties as assigned
