Requirements and Responsibilities
Machinist II assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts by operating mechanical equipment. Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units. Being a Machinist II uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product. Takes measurements of material and selects the appropriate machines for the process.
MUST BE ABLE TO PROGRAM CNC MACHINE
Experience in a contract manufacturing environment with knowledge of setups, tooling, and inspection. Must be able to meet deadlines and maintain a production schedule. Experience with optimization and continuous improvement is preferred
Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years of experience programming and operating a CNC mill and/or lathe using the Haas control or similar Fanuc style control. This may include time spent in an accredited trade school.
• Ability to change and touch off tools.
• Ability to edge find and compute offsets for initial part set up..
• Ability to measure parts, interpret prints, and make appropriate offset changes.
• Competence in programming at the machine from a drawing a plus.
• Competence with Windows and the Microsoft Office family of computer programs.
• Certificate of Completion from an accredited trade school is a plus.
• Excellent written/oral communication skills
