Job Description:
The Enabling Capabilities group within Small Molecule Discovery and Development (SMDD) at Client Agriscience is looking for a highly motivated Chemistry Lab Technician to join our team at theClient Indianapolis Global Business Center. The SMDD group atClien Agriscience represents a sizeable portion of our R&D innovation engine working towards sustainable crop protection solutions. We are looking for individuals for our SMDD Enabling Capabilities group who can work as part of a multidisciplinary team to help discover, develop, and launch our crop protection pipeline.
The successful candidate will be responsible for chemical laboratory sample preparation and instrumentation support to enable crop protection discovery and development projects. This individual will work within the Enabling Capabilities team and apply their expertise to support both NMR and Compound Purification Labs. The role will include the following responsibilities and growth opportunities (What we offer/What’s in it for you):
§ Responsible for NMR sample preparation and NMR instrument upkeep and liquid nitrogen fills.
§ Responsible for analytical sample preparation and UPLC maintenance and troubleshooting.
§ Support the execution of small molecule purification methods via normal & reverse phase LC (Gilson and Teledyne ISCO purification systems) or SFC, & flash chromatography with UV/ELSD/MS detectors.

§ Technical Ability: Must have knowledge of chemical laboratory instrumentation (NMR, IR, UPLC, flash chromatography, SFC) and analytical and preparative separation techniques. Must be able to work cross-functionally to deliver high quality support within timelines and to continually develop knowledge, meet project goals, and enable decisions.
§ Interpersonal Effectiveness and Teamwork: All activities are conducted in a team-based environment. Success is achieved through the effective leveraging of cross-functional knowledge. Requirements:
§ Minimum B.S. in Chemistry or a related discipline. B.S. in Chemistry with 3+ years industrial experience with chemical laboratory instrumentation (NMR, IR, Waters/Aglient instrumentation) and separation/purification sciences or M.S. in Organic Chemistry preferred.
§ Demonstrated understanding of chemical laboratory instrumentation (NMR, IR, Waters/Aglient instrumentation), NMR and various analytical sample preparations and analysis.
§ Demonstrated ability to operate and troubleshoot analytical & preparative instruments such as normal & reverse phase LC (Gilson and Teledyne ISCO purification systems) or SFC, & flash chromatography with UV/ELSD/MS detectors. Experience with Waters and Aglient instrumentation, IR and NMR instrumentation preferred.
§ Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams to solve problems.
§ Strong scientific creativity, analytical and critical thinking skills, and demonstrated customer focus.
§ Excellent oral and written communication and prioritization skills; ability to effectively communicate in a team environment.
