Job Description

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend production orders and instrumentation on fairly complex equipment
  • Must be able to work with others.
  • Operator must be able to follow instructions.
  • Must have good attendance.

Nice-To-Haves:

  • Willingness to work day or night shift on a continuous 7 days work cycle.
  • Ability to push pull 50-120 lbs.
  • Job involves standing for full shift
  • Must be able to read and comprehend English.
  • Operator is constantly walking, climbing, bending and pushing.  Rolling and set-up of reels requiring a force of 140 pounds is required

Job Description:

This position requires the operator to uphold the Client Core Values and Mission Statement as well as the requirements defined in the Quality Management System. The Multiwire Operator is primarily responsible for production requirements for wire drawing in El Paso Fab.  Multiwire Operators may be required to maintain and operator multiple pieces of equipment. 

In addition, the Multiwire is required to set-up Multiwires per the production schedule and process guides as well as ensure that the product meets designated specifications. 

Proper packaging, identification and staging of the product is essential to the satisfaction of Client customers and is also the responsibility of the Multiwire. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspection and be able to determine if the product meets specifications designated in the process guides and is accountable for the quality, presentation and packaging of the product. 
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming product according to defined process 
  • Rework/scrap non-conforming material as required 
  • Maintain the equipment to the 5S guidelines  
  • Maintain basic machine function and daily preventive maintenance 
  • Label product according to schedule and procedures 
  • Stage product and perform accurate inventory transactions 
  • Cold Weld wire 
  • Assist others on the production team in order to continuously improve the efficiency of the facility 
  • Problem-solve the multiwire equipment and provide detailed information on wire-breaks to Engineering 
  • Understand dies and have attention to detail in maintaining the multiwire die inventory 
  • Understand multiwire and annealer lubricants and system and perform necessary water and chemical additions  
  • Prepare the raw materials and dies for upcoming runs in order to expedite the change-over process 
  • Other tasks communicated by supervisors or management at El Paso Fab
