Qualifications:

Must Have’s:

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health and/or engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the Environmental, Health, and Safety field
• Strong Process Safety Management (PSM) regulatory knowledge
• Manufacturing, Engineering, Process Safety Management, and Operations experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of programs
• Travel 0-10%

Responsibilities:

• This role requires a proactive approach to safety, strong presence on the floor, and the ability to work closely with plant personnel to foster a culture of safety and compliance.
• Must take a hands-on approach and actively promote safety and environmental health on the plant floor
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on the plant floor to identify and mitigate hazards
• Respond promptly to safety incidents and near-misses, conducting thorough investigations and root cause analyses
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for plant personnel, including new hire orientation, safety procedures, and emergency response
• Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs and initiatives aimed at reducing workplace hazards
• Work with cross-functional teams to implement safety improvements and best practices
• Oversee the continued compliance to a comprehensive process safety management (PSM) program
• Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM standards, EPA RMP regulations, and other relevant safety regulations
• Communicate PSM systems and metrics for Operations; identifying trends to rationalize the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the risk is highest.
• Participate in or lead process hazard analyses (PHA) and risk assessments to identify potential safety hazards.
• Lead investigations of incidents and near-misses

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices
