LOCATION: IRVINE, CA (100% ONSITE) • LENGTH: 6 MONTHS (possible extension or conversion) • HOURS: 8AM - 5PM HOURS PER WEEK: 40 POSITION TITLE: POWER SUPPLY ENGINEER What You Will Be Doing: Join a dynamic engineering team developing the next generation of In-Flight Entertainment systems.
Your responsibilities will include: Developing new power supply solutions to provide on-board power and in-flight entertainment hardware including AC/DC Power supplies and high-voltage DC/DC converters (LLC and flyback). As part of this job, you will be responsible for the design, testing, and documentation. Other focus areas: • Power control for USB Type C and Power Delivery 2.0. • PFC, LLC, and Inverter designs. • DSP or FPGA-base design, especially for power converter control. • Hardware development and planning including layout, analysis, evaluation, prototype build, and test. Strong emphasis on: • Performing qualitative and quantitative tests to determine properties, characteristics, and the performance of materials, circuits, mechanisms, assemblies, and systems. • Design and development of electronic circuits and board assemblies. Analysis of test data. • Select hardware and material assuring compliance with specifications and product requirements. • Verify embedded firmware and higher-level software functionality of the product. • Ability to apply problem-solving methods to assure compliance with all product requirements. What You Will Bring to the Table: • Ability to develop requirements from specifications, oral instructions, or preliminary sketches. • Ability to analyze and design circuits; implement test methods and procedures. • Proven ability to prepare technical reports and documentation. • Ability to resolve a wide range of design challenges
Education and Experience: • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (MS in Electrical Engineering preferred). • Three to six years of experience in areas such as higher mathematics, electronics, and circuit design. • Hands-on experience with analog simulators. • Two or more years of experience with at least two of the following: o Design of AC/DC Power supplies. o Power Factor Correction o High-voltage DC/DC converters (LLC and flyback). o Power control for USB Type C and Power Delivery 2.0. o DSP or FPGA-based design, especially for power converter control. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Ability to travel to Japan and other domestic and international locations as required approximately 5% of the time
