Engineering Technician II

Develops and evaluates new technologies or methods (mechanics hydraulics algorithms software etc.) Plans and executes engineering work for product validation and verification of significant parts of major projects or complete projects with well defined objectives. Responsible for problem identification and resolution corrective action tracking reliability analysis and verification/validation test plan development. Is a member of a product/project team. Provides guidance on test procedures to engineers and support personnel. Duties: Designs schedules and performs field and/or lab tests to validate new product designs. Analyzes complex test data draws conclusions and summarizes reports acting as liaison between the Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) dept and product engineering. Performs analyses of customer data (i.e. warranty Dealer Technical Assistance Center (DTAC) customer satisfaction surveys Early Detection Problem Resolution (EDPR)). Plans and performs analytical and experimental work to obtain undefined operating loads and/or develop new test procedures. Gives work direction to test operators. Assists in developing and coordinating changes to product definition documents. Coordinates problem identification activities and tracks corrective action progress.
2PM-10PM Monday-Friday. Overtime will be necessary. POSITION TITLE: Manufacturing Technician II Position Qualifications: REQUIRED EDUCATION: Two year A.A.S. technical degree with an electronic or electromechanical course emphasis preferred, or equivalent work history. • EXPERIENCE: • Required: Minimum one year of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering • Preferred: Three or more years of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering • REQUIRED SKILLS: 1. Possess effective written and verbal communication skills, enabling correspondence with internal departments, vendors, and customers 2. Working knowledge of personal computers, spreadsheets, and word processing 3. Understanding of manufacturing processes and electronic components 4. A thorough understanding of equipment and/or manufacturing methods (e.g., multimeters) 5. Understanding of troubleshooting methodologies to identify root cause (e.g. Six Sigma) 6. Ability to read intermediate engineering documents, e.g., schematics or diagrams 7. Maintain necessary product and process records/documentation 8. Ability to comprehend and use product/process component data sheets. 9. Ability to assemble and disassemble products /manufacturing equipment 10. Hands-on experience troubleshooting to identify root cause 11. Ability to maintain semi advanced lab/production equipment 12. Ability to perform intermediate mechanical work 13. Ability to train a manufacturing technician or production associate 14. Ability to work with minimal supervision 15. Knowledge of ergonomics and proper manufacturing safety techniques • PREFERRED SKILLS: 1. Hands-on SMT soldering and intermediate troubleshooting abilities 2. Good understanding of Six Sigma Job Purpose: Assist and support production through methods improvement, training, problem solving, equipment repair, regular maintenance, equipment programming, process/work instruction development for products and equipment. Job Duties: 1. Intermediate understanding of the printed circuit board and manufacturing assembly processes with the ability to respond to any common failures in the process with a corrective action. 2. Provide intermediate technical support to assigned production teams to assist/lead in the resolution of problems during manufacturing. 3. Develop and maintain intermediate programs, processes, and assembly procedures for the manufacture of products with limited guidance of engineers. 4. Assist/lead in the repair, setup, qualification and maintenance of intermediate mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic functions for a number of production equipment. 5. Correspond with technical support via telephone, e-mail, verbal or other means to resolve technical issues appropriately. 6. Assist/lead in training operators on production equipment and processes. 7. Assist process engineers on “Essentials Job Functions” as required. 8. Assist/lead in the design and fabrication of intermediate production fixtures, jigs, and simple machines. 9. Ability to work overtime, cover activities on other shifts and attend off-site training. 10. Willingness to work independently and also within a team based environment as required. 11. Research, gather and summarize intermediate data for use in determining errors and root cause. Provide recommendations for problem resolution or process improvement. May follow through with implementation. 12. Perform other associated tasks as required from their supervisor or manager.
