Develops and evaluates new technologies or methods (mechanics, hydraulics, algorithms, software, etc.) Plans and executes engineering work for product validation and verification of significant parts of major projects or complete projects with well defined objectives. Responsible for problem identification and resolution, corrective action tracking, reliability analysis and verification/validation test plan development. Is a member of a product/project team. Provides guidance on test procedures to engineers and support personnel. Duties: Designs, schedules and performs field and/or lab tests to validate new product designs. Analyzes complex test data, draws conclusions and summarizes reports, acting as liaison between the Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) dept and product engineering. Performs analyses of customer data (i.e. warranty, Dealer Technical Assistance Center (DTAC), customer satisfaction surveys, Early Detection Problem Resolution (EDPR)). Plans and performs analytical and experimental work to obtain undefined operating loads and/or develop new test procedures. Gives work direction to test operators. Assists in developing and coordinating changes to product definition documents. Coordinates problem identification activities and tracks corrective action progress.

Job Description
Operates and monitors tests of drivetrain components including engines, transmissions, axles and gearboxes. Records test information and provides timely communication. Troubleshoots tests and performs corrective actions, as needed. Proficient in the assembly and disassembly of test units, test equipment and test installations. Able to complete projects independently. Actively participates in maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Interacts with others in a collaborative and constructive manner, at all times.

Desired Skills
Proficient in the assembly, disassembly and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Ability to execute basic computer functions. Effective communication and time management skills.

Educational Requirements
2-year technical degree and/or three years of relevant experience required.

Diesel/equipment mechanics or candidates with previous dealership experience are all good and have worked out well in the past. Hands-on mechanical experience is required.
Potential for driving Deere owned Gator and/or forklift after completing training
Lifting up to 70lbs could be required (more likely around 35lbs). Position will be on the shop floor and physical so there is a possibility that the candidate will be standing, bending, crouching etc. for prolonged periods of time. Business casual dress code, will need metatarsals for first day. Max bill rate is $40/hour. Visa sponsorship is not available, now or in the near future, for this position.
