Communications Engineer
Job Description:
As a Communications Engineer, you will play an integral role in building a holistic view and roadmap of the company’s technology strategy and processes. You will collaborate with internal technology groups to ensure that proposed technical solutions align with the company’s overall objectives. You will also serve as a strategic partner to our customers, internal Software and Hardware development teams, and IT functional areas by helping them integrate their needs and our solutions into our overall CAD/AVL System offerings. You will also provide a key resource for insuring our products and systems are fully tested and meet all internal and contractual requirements.
We need someone who can:
Use your distinctive combination of knowledge and hands-on expertise to help design CAD/AVL Communications solutions for Transit Agencies and perform testing of LMR Radio systems, cellular routers , etc that provides our Customers the benefits of new technologies, automation, reliable voice communications and high speed data communications that will greatly improve their day-to-day and long-term operations.
Use your technical capabilities to test and troubleshoot computer networks, CAD/AVL software, RF and electronic hardware, cellular data communications systems, as well as, program and configure LMR radios and Mobile Cellular Routers
Use your communication skills to write test procedures, system specifications, data requirements, customer presentations, etc
Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent working experience
Knowledge of Computer Networks, Cellular Data Communications Systems, LMR Radio Systems
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Visio, PowerPoint, Project, Excel)
Excellent deductive reasoning and troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication and writing skills
Preferred Qualifications For Consideration:
Knowledge of Motorola CPS radio programming software
Knowledge of Motorola P25 Radio systems
Knowledge of L3Harris XG/XL radio programming software
Knowledge of Cradlepoint and Sierra Wireless Routers
