GSP Controls Specialist (CS)

Job Specifics:

Seeking candidates with project controls and finance experience. Candidate should be familiar with project budgeting, forecasts, requisitions & contracts, project tracking, basic accounting processes, etc. Power Station/Utility experience is preferred. SAP experience is preferred. Call out any familiarity with PowerApps, Power BI, or PowerPlan. The physical assignment location will be Darbytown Power Station in Henrico, VA.
Job Summary:

Work under the direction of the site Project Manager (PM) and Project Controls Coordinator (PCC) to acquire, track, and report on all financial and contractual aspects of the assigned projects that fall in their area of responsibilities.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
• Purchase Order Requisitions & Tracking
o Assist PM with creating and submitting purchase order requisitions in support of project procurement activities.
o Track PO milestones and report on upcoming key dates, validity end dates, and funding levels.
• Change Order Requisitions & Tracking
o Assist PM with creating and submitting change order requisitions in support of project procurement activities.
o Maintain cumulative change order log.
• Monthly Cost Forecasts
o Work with site PMs and site financial analysts to assist in development of monthly cost forecasts for submittal to Power Generation Finance.
o Obtain cost reports from SAP for all assigned projects.
o Track variance between forecasts and actual spend and work with site PM to identify areas of improvement.
• Project Closings
o Work with site PMs, financial analysts, accounting, and PCCs to facilitate the unitization and retirement of appropriate assets for each project when the project is ready for accounting closeout and work with the PCCs to update project metrics/status accordingly.
• Capital Budget Development
o Work with site PMs, PCCs, and site financial analysts to assist in the development and maintenance of Project Request Forms (PRFs) and assist in the tracking of Estimate Request statuses.
• Biennial, Rider, and Audit Support
o Assist PCCs with procurement, collection, and tracking of project documentation needs such as POs/COs/PRFs/Estimates/etc. to facilitate responses to Biennial, rate case, and Rider filing audits and interrogatories.
• Become familiar with the Project Management Filing Structure at a working level.
• Assist with other project controls aspects as needed.

Qualifications:
• Good oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with minimum oversight.
• Must have good planning and office management skills.
• Skilled in use of personal computer and Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerApps). Existing or learned skills in SAP are required.
• Ability to follow and/or implement efficient processes and provide recommendations to Project Manager/Project Controls Coordinator on process improvements.
• Ability to analyze information and make sound decisions.

Administrative:
The CS will self-manage travel between assigned sites as required, if multiple sites are included in the job posting specifics
