Job Description

Coordinates and implements, through manufacturing engineering and product/process development, changes to new and existing products, with the specific goal of improving manufacturability, work flow, methods, training and learning curve simplification, using material handling, manufacturing and industrial engineering techniques.

A. Recommends product design changes for improving product performance, manufacturability and work flow. Includes design for manufacturing/automation.

B. Assists product development staff with new product concepts to insure ability to manufacture new designs. Leads manufacturing portion of product development. Assists employee teams in exploration of cost reduction projects. Implements and directs engineering changes into production, instructing and training personnel.

C. Assures that reviews to ensure employee safety are completed during process and that a review for safety takes place with any process and/or equipment change.

D. Designs, develops and establishes training aids/programs and procedures on manufacturing processes.

E. Analyzes discrepant parts and directs actions to prevent their reoccurrence through the use of 8D, PFMEA and other root cause analysis tools.

F. Establishes specific methods for production, including standard work, cycle time, takt time, and ergonomics.

G. Performs special projects and investigations at directions of immediate supervisor.

H. Participates in departmental layouts to improve use of floor space, work flow and material handling.

I. Participates in cost reduction program, computes economic data and implements projects. Includes recommendation and implementation of new or replacement capital equipment to improve manufacturing capabilities.

J. Fills in for supervisor for vacations, meetings & overtime.

K. Member of the Value Stream Teams, recommending and leading actions to achieve the business case.


Work toward better work practices and more productive lines and products effects profitability and plant productivity.

A. Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field and 1-3 years work experience.

B. Must have working knowledge of lean and six Sigma

C. Should have good working knowledge with pc, software and fabrication and/or assembly processes.

D. Must have good written and oral communication skills, and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.

Must be a creative thinker with the ability to communicate ideas and plans.

Responsibilities include conformance to Environmental Management System requirements.


PPE: Metatarsal Safety shoes must meet the ASTM-F2413-18 standards for metatarsal protection not just the toe, be slip resistant, and mostly leather.
Shoes will be checked and must meet all of these requirements or we cannot allow you to work on the manufacturing floor and you will be sent home.
