Mechanical Design Engineer II
Client Operational Technology and Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join our Hardware Engineering team
in Indianapolis, IN supporting development of advanced airborne systems including podded communication link and sensor
systems, airborne armament equipment, alternate mission equipment, cockpit displays, avionics, and radar systems.
Additionally, this role will support the integration of new and existing systems onto airborne, shipborne, and ground
vehicles. Our Indianapolis facility also supports a variety of other product lines serving multiple Department of Defense
(DoD) customers providing the opportunity to work on a diverse set of programs and roles supporting the continued
advancement of your career.
The Mechanical Engineer II will support the development of new products and test hardware, as well as the improvement
of existing products. The engineer will utilize their mechanical engineering skills during the proposal and concept
evaluation, product development, production, and qualification testing phases of new product design. The engineer will
create design solutions that meet product requirements using 3-D CAD modeling software and will be hands-on supporting
production, integration, and testing. The engineer will develop solutions which leverage commercial off the shelf (COTS)
products paired with custom hardware. The engineer must be capable of researching and distilling information from
vendors and collating information. The engineer shall support design reviews, equipment integration, profiling, and testing.
The engineer will provide input on mechanical issues to the project team, working closely with the lead mechanical,
systems, electrical, and test engineers.

Required Skills:
· Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD Secret
level clearance
· Ability to work onsite at our Indianapolis, Indiana facility
with an Integrated Product Team being hands on with
hardware – not afraid to use tools, assemble prototypes,
etc.
· A minimum of two years professional work experience
required.
· Experience in the design, integration, or testing of
mechanical components and assemblies
· Competent using 3-D CAD Modeling Tools (CREO
preferred)
· Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be
adaptable to changing priorities and assignments
· Experience capturing key characteristics & requirements
for systems
· Performing trade studies
· Must be a self-starter, a quick learner, and be able to
function in a dynamic environment, and have good time
management skills.
· Must have strong teaming skills, and good communication
skills.
· Competent at one or more of Aircraft Structures Design,
Ground Structures Design, Electronics Packaging, or
Platform Integration
· Engineering Documentation Practices: Competent
· Environmental Testing: Novice
