Job Description
***Must have unencumbered RN in nursing, BSN preferred, but would consider Associates Degree RN
Previous Occupational Health nursing experience not required, but strongly desired.
Work hours 7-3 or 8-4, but should be willing to be flexible when needed.
Provide professional nursing evaluation and care to employees with on-the-job injuries/illnesses. Coordinate and conduct physicals/screenings (incl. DOT physicals, pre-employment, annual physicals, respiratory fit testing, vision screenings). Maintain accident/incident tracking logs (e. g. OSHA 300) and ensure completion of accident investigations. May be asked to instruct First Aid/CPR/AED trainings. Expert position that requires a Bachelors or Masters degree and 8-10 years of experience. This Occupational Health Office has recently completed a remodel, with new equipment. They use an electronic medical record tracking system - OHM (no experience necessary)
Provide occupational health nursing programs and services that support employee health and wellness strategy, and to enhance the employee's health and performance through case management, health coaching, comprehensive worksite based health surveillance and health and safety education. Provide a safe, effective and early return to work program to facilitate restoration of the employee's health. Assists the mill/facility with safety programs and compliance. Responsibilities include proficiency in providing a prevention-based focus on primary case management, interpretation and application of occupational safety and health regulations, conducting health and safety classes and health coaching. Other job skills include health surveillance, preplacement and periodic health examinations, diagnosis and treatment of minor illness/injury, case management, return to work, and development of written safety programs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory programs such as OSHA, ADA and FMLA.
