Spectrum Ophthalmics is a small warehouse and distribution center under Client Luxottica that supplies equipment and parts to a wide range of clinics, big hospitals, and schools within the Pacific Northwest. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Ophthalmic Service Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work both on-site and, in the field, providing meticulous and efficient service to multiple clients.

Reports to: Service Director
Responsibilities: The Ophthalmic Service Technician will be responsible for overseeing bench work, managing repairs and cleanings for clients, and assisting with installs and repairs of larger equipment at clinics or hospitals. They must have a fine eye for detail, work well with their hands, and be able to efficiently diagnose and fix issues at hand. In addition, the successful candidate must be comfortable operating a forklift and maneuvering within a warehouse setting.
Other responsibilities include:
• Effectively communicating with clients regarding repairs and services concerns and requirements.
• Assessing and repairing equipment in a timely manner to meet deadlines of clients/customers.
• Maintaining inventory and supplies, scheduling repairs and cleanings with service manager and clients/customers.
• Reading and comprehending maps, directions, parts diagrams, and manufacturer instructions.
• Keeping track of documentation and orders using computers and software applications.
• Providing supportive ideas on how to grow and improve the business.
Requirements: We are looking for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers. The ideal candidate should have experience with electronical or mechanical repairs, a strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Other requirements include:
• Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Great Plains, Outlook) preferred.
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions, lift and carry up to 80 lbs., and handle equipment in excess of 100 lbs.
• Willingness to learn operation of a forklift, if not already certified.
