Job Description

shift: Mon-Friday 12 hrs shift, Weekends as need it

The F.A.T. Technician performs factory authorized (FAT) or verification testing and related tasks for the completion of OSS Umbilicals & Products.

The ideal candidate possesses both a high level of technical expertise and an innate passion for quality. You will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and safety of our product delivery to the client.

Essential Skills and Functions to be possessed & demonstrated:
Perform Fiber Optic Testing & Splicing (Outside Plant Certified)
Perform Low Voltage (1000V) Cable Testing & Medium Voltage (6000V+) Cable Testing a. Conductor Resistance, Insulation Resistance, Crosstalk/Attenuation, Impedance, Resistance, and High Potential Testing
Measure resistance, continuity, voltage using test equipment.
Perform & Assist in Hydrostatic Pressure Testing of SDSS Umbilicals & DE Products (10,000-30,000psi)
Set up specialized equipment, perform leak checks by using appropriate equipment and procedures, and verify check completion.
Operation and Basic Maintenance of High Pressure Water Jet & Hydratron Pumps
Record all pertinent data, ensure correct digital recording methods are used.
Setup digital recording of pressure tests (CompactRIO, NI Equipment, Pressure Transducers, etc).
Ability to troubleshoot product and test equipment
Knowledgeable about pumps and manifolds
Ability to read and interpret schematics (electrical / fiber optic / hydraulic)
Knowledgeable about fittings, pressure ratings and proper engagement
Interpret test data (plots, graphs, tabulated parameters) to choose pass/fail condition and resolve when further analysis is needed.
Identify and document Non-Conformance Records (NCRs) and coordinate improvements, escalate as needed.
Understand, report, and review tool status.
Support a safe work environment by following safe work practices, adhering to safety guidelines, utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and following Lockout Tagout (LOTO) policies and procedures.
Provide timely clear communication to appropriate stakeholders including production status, tasks completed, detailed descriptions, continuous improvement ideas, and shift pass downs.
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in all working areas maintaining that area to the highest degree of cleanliness required for assembly operations.

Min Requirements

High school Diploma or GED.
Previous relevant experience and aligned with the job description.
