The knowledge, skills, abilities, and education required for entry into this job include the following: - In-depth knowledge of the concepts of mainframe computer operations. - Functional knowledge of mainframe and distributed scheduling software, TSO, and JCL. - Knowledge of peripheral computer equipment, such as tape drives and high-speed printers. - Good written and verbal skill.
• What are the top (at least 3 if possible) “must have” skill sets (technical/functional) which are required?
1. Scheduling Software including but not limited to Enterprise Systems Platform (ESP), Control-M and Control-M Enterprise
2. Monitoring Enterprise Batch Operations (z/OS, Unix, Windows)
3. Mainframe Batch Production Monitoring
• What are the top “nice to have” skill sets? ServiceNow, z/OS 1.4(or higher), MVS/ESA-OS/390, JES3 V4, ISPF, CICS, OPS/MVS II, JCL, DB2, TCP/IP
• What soft skill requirements do you have (team fit and personality requirements)? Flexible, able to work a 12-hour night shift, strong written and verbal communication skills
• What education and certifications/licensures are required? High School Diploma and/or related advanced training and certifications such as A+ Certification.
• Are there any specific companies/industries or ideal background you’d like to see in the candidate’s experience? No
• What schedule is the candidate required to work? 12-hour night shift (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday), every third Saturday 06:30 pm to 06:30 am
