POSITION SUMMARY
The Patient Registration Analyst/Trainer reports directly to the Patient Registration Manager. He/She is responsible for the understanding and testing of the Registration applications. He/She assists with operational development, database management, educating and training to Patient Registration applications, regulatory standards and customer service.

SPECIFIC SKILLS NEEDED:
Analytical skills to collect and research data; Critical thinking and problem solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, ability to follow-up and document key areas of concern, ability to efficiently coordinate resources of the hospital; Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, exhibit sound and accurate judgment; Excellent organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills, uses time efficiently, able to deal with frequent change or unexpected events; Excellent communication and teaching skills; Ability to work under pressure, managing behavior and controlling emotions; thinks clearly and remains positive when faced with negative responses, actions or difficult situations.

Requirements:
• High school graduate required, prefer Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, organization development, or other related fields preferred;
• Previous hospital/healthcare experience;
• Two years experience in financial counseling, hospital contracting and/or hospital billing;
• Knowledge of eligibility requirements for Medi-Cal, Medicare, Covered California, COBRA, limited benefit plans, VVC and Uncompensated Care Programs;
• Proficient in the Microsoft Suite of software.
• Understanding of DOFRS preferred;
• Medical terminology knowledge;
• Experience in teaching/mentoring;
