Job Description

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in a Chemistry related or Material

Science field from a four-year college or university with 3 years or more related

experience in the Rubber, Plastics Compounding or Coatings Industry; or

Associate’s Degree (A.A.) in Chemistry related or Material Science field with five

or more years related experience and / or extensive training in the Rubber,

Plastics Compounding or Coatings Industry; or equivalent combination of

education and experience.

Responsibilities:

Complete raw material evaluations for replacements and qualityimprovements. *

  1. Complete laboratory batches and coordinate and participate in testingas needed for approval at automotive OEM customers. *
  1. Specific material improvement projects as assigned.
  2. Design and complete controlled experiments as needed.
  3. Participate in pilot and plant scale runs of products under development.
  1. Assist other Client departments as needed.
  2. Other duties as assigned.

 

Typical Equipment

Double arm lab mixers, scales, heated press, convection ovens, aging ovens, test

panels, basic metal shear and metal working equipment, Instron tensile tester,

various environmental test chambers.
