Must be Service Routing subject matter expert on Client NSP, knowledgeable on Client 77xx Service Routing devices (Hardware/Software/Diagnostics) ,
Must be strong communication skills, will work onsite with Customer Teams to provide support and assistance.


• The Resident Engineer will work onsite, in Customer’s locations in Richmond VA. The Resident Engineer will interface with the local Customer Network Operations Center personnel.
• Supporting: Customer’s NOC Operations and Maintenance Engineering Staff to develop Operations Readiness
• Establish documented processes and procedures to improve NOC visibility to the EMS’s and associated Network Elements.
• Enhance the Client Outage Management and Notification processes.
• Define IP MPLS provisioning standards and develop a consistent process guideline to further reduce fault restoration timelines.
• Provide continued On-The-Job (OJK) Knowledge transfer to Client NOC personnel including:
o MPLS Role:
i. Provide technical support/troubleshooting for all Client network/services operational issues related
to network or services to include MPLS, DWDM, and Microwave.
ii. Provide support to Architects in the development/testing of new services including LAB testing.
iii. Provide technical consultation to EOC group and Engineering staff (adhering to DE’s Architecture
standards).
iv. Take lead in opening and managing the progression of Client TAC tickets associated with network
and services.
v. Proactively assess NSP alarms associated with network and services to engage the EOC group as
needed.
vi. Develop operational MOPs as required to perform operational activities or nodal software upgrades.
vii. Provide knowledge transfer on MPLS.

Monitoring and surveillance activities
o Command Line Interface for Client routers and switches
o NSP EMS Familiarization
o New network element configuration/Network routing setup
o IP Element configuration
o Event detection and isolation/Fault resolution
o Routine diagnostics and corrective action management
• Evaluate customer skillsets and develop training plan
