Qualifications:

This site uses Kronos for timekeeping.

Requires 5+ years as a Quality Technician (using micrometers, calipers, CMM and other measuring devices)

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent

Basic computer and math skills

Experience reading engineering drawings and GD&T

Experience using CMM and optical measurement systems

Knowledge of IATF 16949 and AS 9100 standards

Experience with PPAP, control plans, and PFMEA preferred

Ability to sit for long periods of time

Ability to work in above ambient temperatures

Maintain high attendance standards

Ability to strictly adhere to written and verbal instructions

Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally

Responsibilities:

The Senior Quality Technician will be responsible for measuring, recording, and reporting on the quality characteristics of Meldin components. Testing responsibilities include use of contact measuring tools, use of non-contact measuring tools, and visual inspection. In addition, this role is responsible for managing the site’s calibration program, managing incoming material inspections, tracking discrepant materials, generating customer SQC and process capability reports, and completing internal audits. Cross-training in other quality roles is assigned as required.

Job Responsibilities

Use safe practices and comply with all company policies, procedures and health, safety and environmental regulations, as required.

Conduct safety observations and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) activities as required by our plant EHS. Follow all safety requirements pertaining to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and operation of equipment.

 

Maintains work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles.

Complete all paperwork correctly, legibly and honestly.

Contribute towards continuous improvement processes and projects in the areas of output, quality, cost and delivery.

Record data, record and report problems, escalating them by the necessary protocol as they arise.

Handle raw material, hazardous waste, and defective parts safely and in an environmentally responsible manner

Perform preventative maintenance on equipment

Work from written procedures, work routers, work instructions, and ASTM specifications

Follow work instructions and procedures carefully

Record data and report problems as they arise

Responsible for setting up, running, and troubleshooting measurement equipment in standard operating conditions

Reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness

Manage the DMR (Discrepant Material Reporting) process

Complete and sign-off first and last article inspections in a timely manner

Managing programs as assigned such as calibrations and incoming material inspections

Generate process capability and SQC reports using Minitab or similar

Read customer part drawings, understand GD&T, and generate quality inspection plans

Cross train as backup for materials testing

Act as a reference for quality questions and recommendations
