Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an applicable scientific discipline (such as Environmental Engineering or Medical Technology), or equivalent knowledge and experience.• Advanced Certification (such as CSP, ASP, or CIH) or advanced coursework/master’s degree in Work Environment or similar preferred.• Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws related to health and safety and environmental protection.• Minimum seven years experience dealing with EHS policy and compliance issues.• Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and execute various projects simultaneously.• Analytical ability and knowledge of business processes.• Ability to create and deliver effective training materials.• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Office Suite software.• Strong training skills, both to develop online training and to deliver in-person training• Strong communication skills An understanding of safety culture and promotion of safety culture in the work environment• Radiation Officer Certified or ability to become certified within one year (may be waived if a CSP or CIH and exhibit strong radiation skill set).• Laser Safety Officer Certified or ability to become certified within one year (may be waived if a CSP or CIH and exhibit strong laser safety skill set).• DOT/RCRA trained within the last year or ability to get this training within the first six months of employment
Responsibilities:
The EHS Specialist is the Client Redmond representative on the Client of the Americas Enterprise EHS Team. The EHS Specialist is an integral part of the OCA EHS team, partnering with the larger OCA EHS team, senior OCA executives as well as facilities & cross functional teams in numerous Client of the America locations across the Americas. This position reports to the EHS Manager for OSTA Manufacturing of the Client of the Americas. This position is responsible to lead in coordinating OSTA compliance initiatives in Environment, Health, and Safety and other relevant compliance areas as designated. Assist and help manage development, management, and review of policies and practices for OSTA and/or its facilities, and works with Legal, Operations and Senior Management of the regional sites assigned to facilitate compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
This position will be based at one of the Client Redmond and should expect to spend most of their time working onsite to support operations however there is some work at home offered on occasion (work with manager).
Responsibilities:1. Health and Safety – Oversees occupational health and safety matters related to facility- and field-based personnel. Develops and maintains a systematic occupational health and safety management program to facilitate:
(1) identification of occupational health and safety hazards;
(2) utilization of physical safeguards and employee personal protective equipment to control such hazards;
(3) training of employees in good health and safety management practices; (4) investigation of accidents and occupational injuries and illnesses;
and (5) compliance with all applicable health and safety legislation. Evaluates deficiencies; establishes and implements written policies and procedures; audits to assess and ensure compliance with policies and procedures; and provides requisite training. Manages general compliance matters and projects as necessary, , assistance to ensure compliance with relevant policies, and other federal laws relating to health and safety (e.g. transportation of hazardous materials). 2. Environmental – Oversees environmental matters related to Client facilities and products. Develops and maintains a systematic environmental management program to facilitate: (1) assessment of environmental impacts of products, facilities and operations; (2) engagement of Client management and staff in activities related to reducing environmental impacts; and (3) compliance with applicable environmental legislation. Serves as a contact for Client regarding Client products and facility related environmental compliance issues; monitors environmental laws that impact Client products and operations; evaluates deficiencies in this area; establishes and implements written policies and procedures; audits to assess and ensure compliance with policies and procedures; provides requisite training. - Auditing sites for environmental and safety compliance. 3. Safety – Includes worker’s safety, industrial safety, fire safety, ergonomics, HazCom, process/work evaluation, accident investigation, safety trainings for employees, and chemical safety.- Ability to work with management of change/process safety elements including learning the document control system to make annual program changes or institute new programs through document control. 4. Training – Develop compliance and other identified training, as necessary. 5. The OCA Regional EHS Associate Manager will maintain a regular travel schedule to help intertwine enterprise and regional security management into the safety and security culture of each site location. 6. Advise the OCA Site Director/Manager and supporting managerial team on all EHS needs and regulatory compliance items 7. Perform other related duties as assigned
