The engineering co-op/intern will be supervised and mentored by Sr. Engineer’s in the assigned engineering team. Interaction with Project Leaders and other engineers will occur on a daily basis as needed during the co-op/internship period. This position will include creation and execution of verification tests, troubleshooting and evaluating instrument and system issues, and supporting engineering evaluations and feasibility efforts. The engineering co-op/ intern will be expected to work part time (minimum 20 hours per week between 7:30am and 5:30pm) during the 2022-2023 school year, and full-time in the summer. The position is located in Murray Utah.

Basic Knowledge: The co-op/intern will obtain basic knowledge related to medical instrumentation research, development, design and testing. Candidates will be expected to have general engineering knowledge including the use of standard engineering tools and laboratory test equipment, understanding of general laboratory practices, general computer applications competencies (word processing, spreadsheet, internet data search, software programming, etc.), and strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:  The ideal candidate will be an Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering student with hands on experience with wiring control cabinets and creating schematics, or a Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering student with interest/aptitude in robotics and electrical systems.

Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Biomedical Engineering undergraduate students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher will be considered. Completion of at least sophomore year of undergraduate studies is preferred, but not required.
