Description:
The candidate will be a member of the Technical Publications team supporting Rotary and Mission System programs in Huntsville Al and Shelton Ct.
Responsibilities include:
Write, rewrite and/or edit technical documents such as Integrated Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), Repair Parts and Special Tools Lists (RPSTL); Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPB) and Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPC) to a wide range of audiences.
Acquire subject knowledge by referring to technical specifications, mod kits, blueprints, engineering illustrations, schematics, Sound-Offs (SO) and Publication Change Requests (PCR).
Participate in project team meetings and meet deadlines with support of team lead.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline; or equivalent experience/combined education, with 3 years of professional experience; or 1 year of professional experience with a related Masters degree; or 8 Years military experience in a maintenance Military Occupational Specialty (MOS).
Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team, including virtual teams, as required.
Ability to author technical content for RPSTLs, IPBs, IPCs and understand content for rotary wing aircraft.
Ability to author technical content that adheres to required standards, style guidance, contract requirements, and using clear and concise language.
Ability to meet deadlines and quality standards.
Must be detail oriented.
Familiar with structured authoring and XML authoring tools Such as Arbortext, Ultra Edit and Beyond Compare.
Familiar with logistics database software such as SLICwave, Eagle or PowerLOGJ.
Clearance: No clearance required.
Desired Skills:
Experience authoring to military standards, especially 40051-2C and S1000D.
Experience with XML authoring tools, such as Arbortext.
Experience with logistics database software such as SLICwave, Eagle or PowerLOGJ
