Job Title: Toolmaker
Reports To: Value Stream Manager
Summary:
Support manufacturing and engineering departments by manufacturing various production and prototype components, fixtures, and tools.

Responsibilities:
- Machine complex tooling and fixtures working with Manufacturing Engineering and Design Engineering
- Creating and proofing CNC programs using Proto-Trak
- Set-up and run of manual machine shop equipment including mills, lathes, drill presses, shears, saws, etc.
- Set up and run CNC lathes (2 axis) and mills (2 axis) in prototype and production environment.
- Set-up and operate surface grinding machines.
- Develop, fabricate, and sharpen various cutting tools and specialty tools.
- Inspect GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) features using basic and advanced inspection techniques.
- Cut open units to complete production operations.
- Assist shop management in training shop employees in common machine shop practices and company specific processes and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
- High mechanical aptitude
- Proficiency in trigonometry
- Working knowledge of computers.
- Understand the mechanics of chip formation and metal cutting.
- Knowledge of ANSI/EIA RS – 274 (“G” code NC programs)
- High School Diploma or GED from accredited institution
- 5+ years’ experience in trade as a tool maker.
- Experience or formal education in design/drafting with emphasis on CAD
- Resides within a reasonable commuting distance.
- US person within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a US person as a US Citizen, US
Permanent resident (Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee
Preferred:
- AS in technical field.
