ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Limit yourself to 8-12 statements)
2. List the essential functions (i.e. key responsibilities with expected end results) which must be accomplished in order to fulfill the purpose of your position as described above.

1. Capability to setup complex parts and operate machine without supervision.
2. Interprets plans, work order, blueprints or drawings to determine the necessary work required, full understanding of GD&T.
3. Inspects parts for quality and appropriate tolerance using the appropriate measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, air gages and comparators.
4. Finishes all parts with different materials to close tolerance without supervision.
5. Examines surface of work piece for defects before starting work.
6. Must meet production and quality requirements at all times, always keep work area clean.
7. Ability to modify machining feed and speeds on multiple material types and select tooling, gauges as/if required.
8. Uses measuring tools, air gauges, micrometers and other inspection tools to verify part quality.
9. Replaces worn tools, inspect parts and adjust tool offsets as needed.
10. Must be a team player and follow all safety rules and regulations.
11. Drives for continuous process improvements

DIMENSIONS:

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

Basic Qualifications:
• High School Diploma required from an accredited institution
• Minimum 7 years experience in machining, honing or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds often.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area (50 miles 90039) will be considered for this position.

Position Criteria:
• Experienced with multiple machine tools, production methods and shop practices preferred.
• Ability to learn equipment and processes for fabrication of aerospace parts, produce parts in accordance with the production plans, sketches and/or verbal instructions.
• Ability to maintain close tolerance dimensions on critical parts.
• Knowledge of dimensional measuring instrumentations and use of such tools to verify actual measurements of machined diameters, dimensions and features.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, manufacturing routings, procedures, and routers.
• Good verbal and written communication skills a must.
• Familiarity with SPC principles and methods.
• Ability to produce and inspect critical parts with tight tolerances and finishes, with minimal supervision.
• Ability to logically solve problems and to keep assignments and projects moving in an orderly and structured fashion.

 

Work Schedule 1:45PM - 11:45PM

Preferred Qualifications:
• Aerospace experience preferred.
• 8 plus years experience in machining, honing or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment.
• Involvement in successful process definition and re-engineering.
• Experience in employee involvement in multi-discipline teaming.
• Proficiency with computer based methods and tools.
• Familiarity /experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement and Six Sigma methodology
